Lights! Camera! Action! – call London Cool
London Cool is often asked to provide cooling for the entertainment industry - film and photographic studios, television production, theatres and cinemas, as well as special events such as product launches.
With a number of years’ experience in the air conditioning industry, our team know exactly what is required for unusual and varied spaces. We can supply large industrial-size portable air conditioning units which keep the film set cool despite the high temperatures created by the studio equipment – from studio lights to the filming equipment.
Our smaller portable cooling units are perfect for dressing rooms and green rooms, whether they are in a purpose-built theatre or a temporary marquee tent set up on location for cast and crew members. Outdoor locations present their own unique set of challenges as temperatures can change very quickly with the weather, plus on-site power sources may be limited.
We can provide portable evaporative coolers where there is nowhere to duct out the warm air, split portable air conditioners that can have up to 30m of interconnecting line to the outdoor heat exchanger or spot coolers which direct the cool air exactly where it is needed. From experience, we know that as we move into the autumn months, our portable heating units will be needed to help keep the temporary dressing rooms or green rooms warm when set up on location. London Cool even has portable room cooling units that also have a heat pump feature, such as the Weltem WPH 5000 or the Cool Master 16000. Portable heat pumps offer energy efficient heating with up to 7kw of heating from a standard 240v power supply. Portable heat pump units are available to hire and purchase.
Behind the scenes, our portable air conditioners are often required for the production offices, server rooms, editing suites or media centres. We provided such cooling at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show and for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
